In partnership with D.I.G. Farm, For the People and Kids, Inc. is thrilled to unveil an array of captivating kids' programs at the farm! Join us at D.I.G. Farm for an unforgettable journey of exploration, learning, and communion with nature!
Homeschooling Program:
We offer specialized programs that seamlessly blend academic enrichment with hands-on agricultural experiences, providing learners with a holistic education deeply rooted in nature. We run 5 Mondays per session and offer a moving-up ceremony in June before breaking for Summer and returning in the Fall. This includes an Art Exhibit at the local Library for our learners to display their work.
Saturday Edible Garden Program:
Learners will explore the concept of companion planting and grasp its numerous benefits. They will have the opportunity to harvest fresh produce while honing their culinary skills through the creation of simple, delicious snacks.
Summer Camp at the Farm:
Provides an enriching experience where campers aged 4-12 embark on nature trails, learn foraging skills, interact with farm animals, and tend to garden beds, planting and harvesting fresh crops—all while gaining insights into sustainable practices. This immersive adventure fosters a profound connection with nature and farm life.
For campers aged 13-16, the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program offers a unique opportunity to transition from campers to leaders, shouldering increased responsibilities within our camp community. This program is more than just leadership training; it's a transformative journey empowering young individuals to become confident, compassionate leaders who make positive impacts in their communities and beyond.
Independent Learning Stations offer diverse opportunities for exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning, catering to the unique styles and preferences of each learner.
School/homeschooling/kids organization groups:
We offer programming to kids' groups for immersive class trips to the farm, where learners can delve into the wonders of agriculture firsthand, and explore sustainable farming practices, environmental conservation, and the importance of healthy eating.
